New 13.1 PR!
I did it! I ran sub 1:40 for the half marathon this past weekend - yay!! Ran 1:39:34 which was good for 9th female overall and 2nd in my age group. Ty hung with me the entire way which was a great help and I was able to push hard during the entire race. It hurt pretty bad by the end and I only had one slug of Gatorade during the race at about mile 10. Otherwise it was all water I took in. I was nervous since I usually have a gel with me, but I made it through just fine. We really enjoyed our little weekend away at Atlantic Beach. We really enjoyed our afternoon in Beaufort, as well as checking out Fort Macon. Enjoyed a beautiful sunset with drinks and dinner on Saturday night. Everything was nice and quiet since it's still off-season. Spent the rest of Sunday at the Draft House with Tommy and Kelly watching the men's Olympic hockey game. It was a bummer they lost, but still a good game. Today we woke up to snow (again!) I think it has snowed about 4 times this winter- it's March!! Where is spring?? Looking forward to this weekend though when it should warm up to the 60's. Before I know it we will be back in Boston in April for the marathon- can't wait!!
