Here's to 2010.
A new year, which will bring new celebrations and challenges. I ended 2009 with the annual case of gastroenteritis while we were celebrating the traditional Johnson Christmas. This is twice now that this has happened to me on a Johnson holiday! I really would like it to NOT happen again. Losing 4 lbs in a few hours in no fun. I was so sick I had to give up call since I was in the bathroom the entire day and there was NO way I was able to coordinate a transplant while sitting on the throne with my head in the wastebasket! We ended the year at 94 transplants which is a record. Pretty cool to be a part of this.
Ty and I have hemmed and hawed about which marathon we should run this spring. We could only decide on which half marathons we would run, and we took so long deciding that we were too late to sign up for the Myrtle Beach Half. So I think we will run a local half in March. I was very fortunate to score a Boston Marathon number through an old Tabor friend (thanks Cristin!) So we will fly up to MA in April for that. I am still dealing with a troublesome hamstring and glute issue. Have been using my foam roller and trigger point ball religiously but can't seem to "unstick" all the tissue. I need to visit my massage therapist Julie more often but now that I work 5 days a week this is difficult.
Will returned to NC last week and is just getting back into the swing of things here. Got right back into acupuncture and was fitted for some leg braces that will allow him to "stand" with the help of a walker.
Ty painted our office last weekend- a nice mocha color. He and I had a GREAT trip to Boston two weeks ago. Got to see a lot of our friends and stayed at the Marriott in Copley with a gorgeous view of the river (thanks Lindsey!) My college roommie Kristen flew in from Michigan and we drove up to NH for Kristyn's surprise baby shower. It was SO fun and wonderful to see and spend time with old friends. I am happy to also announce that Kristyn gave birth on 1/22 to a beautiful baby girl- Sarina Rose :)
