Is It Spring Yet?
It's still cold down here! Looking forward to running a half marathon in a little over 2 weeks. While Will is up North, Ty and I will head to the coast (Atlantic Beach) to run a 1/2. Not sure how I will do, would love to run 1:40 or under, but I've been a little lax with the training given the weather. Did a solid 2 hrs in Umstead last weekend, but am on-call this weekend so it's impossible to stray far from the laptop. I just found out I can join the gym at Duke for $15/month! Psyched to start going there. We gave up our gym membership when Will had his accident and then the new owner of the gym ended up in jail....long story short- haven't been to a gym in awhile. But we really don't need one given the fact we have weights and I have my trainer for the bike. But I do miss the "social" aspect of the gym and being around other motivated, fit people. So this will be just the fix! I was so annoyed last weekend when I was all by my lonesome on the bridle trails in Umstead and passed 2 runners who didn't even crack a smile nor give a nod. How rude. (It was 2 men by the way...all the women I passed gave a friendly smile or a wave) We have a joke in the office about testosterone poisoning.... I should stop now in case Ty decides to read this ;)
