I am a 3 time IRONMAN! Finish time: 13:26:31
A post from Ironman.com:
Looking down the long straightaway that was the finish line here at Ford Ironman Florida this afternoon, all you could see was a sea of athletes either finishing, starting their second loop of the run, or the thousands of spectators here to watch them.Athletes love this race here in Panama City Beach. Today it was easy to see why. The day began with a swim off a beautiful white sandy beach in water that was relatively calm and flat. It continued through warm, but not too hot conditions. There was next-to-no wind. It made for fast times for the athletes and great conditions to watch them do it.As the day nears its end, the incredible Frank Farrar is on his way to yet another Ironman finish. He’s 78 years young and seems to embody the enthusiasm we’ve come to expect as the norm here at Ford Ironman Florida. Today we enjoyed some great racing, watched more than 2,000 athletes compete in yet another Ironman event … and celebrated once again the fact that anything is possible.
I had an AMAZING race, no problems whatsoever, and I felt pretty darn good through the entire race. Of course there is discomfort but I never hit a real "low" point where I have in the past when you feel like you are never going to make it or that you are doing everything you possibly can to just drag your body another mile. I'll post an official race report later, I am tired and didn't really sleep much last night which is normal for me after an IM. It was so wonderful to have my future in-laws down here and of course Ty was (and continues to be) ever supporting of me and my endeavors :) We are off to the IM Village in an hour to check out the professional pictures of me taken out on the course and to buy some official finishers gear- YEAH!
