Yes it has been awile, ok 2 weeks exactly, since my last post. It's been a little busy and I'v e been a little bit of a slacker...excuses excuses....what I hypocrit I am...I'm not one to tolerate excuses....
So what has been going on? Some not-so-happy news and some happy news. Ty's gram passed away about a week and a half ago so we were down in Pinehurst for about 2 days. It was somewhat expected, but nonetheless still a sad time. We will be headed to Keene, NH in April for a gravside service and burial. Following our return from Pinehurst we ended up with Mattie at NC State's Small Animal ER. She had not eaten her meals for 2 days and then started vomiting. We took her home after 4 hours with supportive care ie bland diet and some meds. She is almost back to normal, but we have created a spoiled monster now. Instead of her dry food, she now will not eat it without some rice and ground beef. We have also started her back on an anti-anxiety drug that her previous owners had her on but had stopped giving to her b/c they could never remember to adminster it. (And her previous owners are both physicians!) Superbowl Sunday arrived and due to the outcome of the game it's been all Red Sox talk in our house. A few of my friends raised their eyebrows at Ty...he was just a tad upset. Let's just leave it at that.
I just came off 4 nights in a row and am looking forward to a bit of vacation time this week. Tommy, Kelly, Joyce, and Tom were at the house Friday night to celebrate Tommy's 20-14 (34th:) birthday. Tommy and Kelly are moving from Hickory to Raleigh in about 2 weeks so they are busy with apartment application and finishing up a few last days of work. Ty and I have been situated on the couch for the past 24 hours. Ty bought the first 2 seasons of Lost on DVD. We are HOOKED! I am at his hockey game as I type this and we both were reluctant to go since we are in the middle of season 1.
And I forgot to mention that I had a pseudo-job interview at a personal training business in Durham. It went really well. I was there for about 90 minutes and they seemed like a great fit for me! Once I get certified I should have a job there. My goal is to be certified by the middle of fall. I have joined the National Strength and Conditioning Association and have ordered their textbook so I can start studying for the exam. I will also be "interning" at this business starting this spring which will help me prepare for the exam. I will continue wit nursing full time for now, and start personal training part-time with the intent of becoming full time within 1-2 years. I am really excited about this!
