Been Awhile...
Please excuse my lack of posting for the past 2 weeks...I realize I have been a slacker. Not a lot of earth shattering things to post about. I worked a week of nights last week, therefore I was a zombie. Mattie had her first trip to Pinehurst about 2 weeks ago and she did really well. We have been doing some wedding related things. Finally have the rehearsal dinner nailed down- Chatham Bars Inn! I am VERY excited about this. We added and updated our registries and website. I finally found a wedding band I love. Still trying to figure out the bridesmaid dress situation, but that will soon be done. Ty used his computer expertise and created a wedding spreadsheet itemizing all the costs and when he hit total a little bit of throw up was in my throat. But I just have to keep reminding myself not to look at the one number, just look at the itemized costs and check them off as we go. Kinda like in the Ironman. You freak out if you think of all 140.6 miles at once, but when you break the race down into sections its not that bad :)
Speaking of Ironman...I would like to say how proud I am of Ty. You know me and the health & fitness soapbox I like to stand on....well he has cut out beer drinking during the week and a lot of extra snacking in attempt to shed a few LB's. It also makes it easier for me to try and stick to healthy living when your significant other is on board. On my days off I look forward to meeting him at the gym during his lunch hour. I am really trying to get my running back to a higher level. I would like to see myself running the paces I ran when I was 18 (this maybe a pipe dream as I am almost 10 yrs older now...but I hate to use age as an excuse!) I have always favored running over biking or swimming so now is the time to committ to it before spring/summer arrives which is peak triathlon season. I am anxiously awaiting April 15th when I will find out if I secure a lottery spot for Hawaii. I was going to sign up for a local Iron distance event in Nov. if I didn't get into Hawaii but I just literally found out the race is already full. So my 2008 IM fate rests in the hands of the lottery.
Will is coming down this weekend, along with his girlfriend and one of her friends. His friend is in the military down here and may be shipping out in Feb so they are coming down to hang out with him and also visit with us. We are going to the Hurricanes game on Friday night which should be a good time. Will has never been to a NHL hockey game before and I had actually never been until I had moved down here. Ty and I are looking forward to having them stay with us. I am posting some new pics of the animal farm we have here in Raleigh...oh and Ty is also off the injured list and back on the ice, although I have to say, I have seen his team play better in the past ;)
