Recovery...

No not recovery from a hard workout...recovery from a very busy and may I say "intense" weekend. We were glad to have my brother, his girlfriend Donna, and their friend Sarah down for the weekend. I would like to say that their real intention was to come visit us, however, they came down to "hang out" ie PARTY with Will's friend Mike who is a Marine and will be shipping out for his first time. A few roles I played this weekend: big sister, designated driver, chef, housekeeper/maid, event planner, babysitter, nurse, Guitar Hero rock star. Don't get me wrong, I had nice time hanging out with everyone minus Mike. Friday before Mike arrived, I picked them up and we went to the Draft House. Friday night we all went to the Hurricanes game which was an awesome game (we won and there was a hat trick 19 sec before the game ended) Sat morning I was able to get a quick run in before the debauchery started. We met my friends Deirdre and Adam and some of their friends out at Wild Wing Cafe (great wings!) It was all downhill from there. LOTS of alcohol, Adam's friends kept buying shots for Mike, and this led to an increased level of obnoxiousness and inappropriateness (I won't even attempt to go into details here) We proceeded to pick up Guitar Hero from my friend Sarah and that occupied some time, the afternoon was soon gone, we made it out to dinner at Bogarts around 9:30 ish. I believe there was actually 10 minutes of civility during dinner while Mike had food in his mouth. Dinner gave way to more booze, then dancing with the boys doing shots out on the dance floor. PS- Anything called Red Death is a shoe in for trouble. I wish I had my camera out when the 7 foot black man bouncer was towering over Mike. He was about 5 words from getting thrown out of the place. However I was not in the best mood at that moment. I told them it was time to go, but of course they had to take a mandatory leak behind my car before we left. And guess what? Poor babies had a headache the next morning. Gee I wonder why!? Once again the 6 of us piled in the car and went to Courtney's for breakfast. Next stop the Greyhound bus station! Buh bye Mike. Aww peace and quiet. We spent the rest of Sunday out in Chapel Hill to watch the Pats game with my buddies PJ & Kelly and then we headed over to Shiki Sushi. All bottles of wine were 50% off so now it was my turn to have a drink! (and I needed it!) Just dropped Will, Donna, and Sarah off at the airport and now it's time for some serious house cleaning, laundry, and then 2 hours at the gym. Back to work tomorrow and working this weekend :(
