Johnson Family Christmas
We celebrated Christmas this past Sunday with Ty's folks and very recently engaged Tommy and Kelly (congrats!) Gifts and food were abundant that's for sure! We had a last minute change of menu when we discovered our turkey was not quite "right" Off to the market the men went to buy some steaks and a sink plunger :) I mashed away with my new Kitchen Aid mixer and made some yummy potatoes and baked some delicious pearled onions. The evening gave way to football and naps, then some cookie making in the new mixer followed by a game of Trivial Pursuit and MANY beers were had by Ty :) Out for breakfast the next morn and then an impromptu visit to Ty's cousin's new house to see his aunt and other cousins. The "real" Christmas eve arrived fast, all the fam was gone, and there we sat on the couch with some Chinese food and On Demand. Exhausted we were, and in bed at 8:30....haven't done that in a LONG time. The "real" Christmas morn soon followed our long slumber and we whipped up one delicious breakfast. House cleaning followed for a few hours and then a nap and run in the park with Mattie. I was anticipating not having to go into to work as it was slow during the dayshift, and I was put "on-call" at 5:30 pm. Started to enjoy a glass of wine and was about to pour a 2nd glass when I got called in at 7 pm :( So off to Chapel Hill I went and worked the nigtshift. It ended up being a fairly busy night, sent my patient to the OR and had some downtime until he came back to me around 1 am. Tired I was this morning and enjoyed crawling into bed at 8 am. Now I must be off to get back in bed as I am working days tomorrow and Friday. Hope a very Merry Christmas was had by all!
