Miles wins his age group again - 1/2 marathon in Huntersville, NC (1:51)
Ty and I decided it was time...time for 26.2 this spring. We have signed up for the Tobacco Road Marathon. We do most of our running on the Tobacco Trail, which is very flat and scenic. It is one of my favorite places down here. We used to do a lot of running in Umstead Park which is hilly, but since the birth of Miles and given the location of our home the Tobacco Trail is where its at. My SI joint is still bothersome when I lay flat on my back, but overall it is doing ok and I have no real pain when I run. I have discovered a phenomenal massage therapist and am looking forward to seeing him at least once a month. He has worked with Nike, and Olympic runners. He is awesome and very reasonable given the quality of his work.
Ty and I packed Miles up last weekend and headed towards Charlotte to run another 1/2 marathon. Miles did great in the hotel and it was really fun to get away on a whim. We enjoyed the area of Huntersville and met the owners of a local Fleet Feet shop. We spent a good amount of time talking to them about their journey of running a Fleet Feet franchise. The very enjoyable weekend gave way to a very stressful week at work. I have been working 10-11 hour days non-stop and it is is really taking a toll. We are hoping for some relief to come soon and I am trying to be patient as change does not happen overnight. Thankfully, I am on vacation this coming week and my folks are coming to visit. Super excited to see them and spend some quality family time with them. Miles is going to blow them away. They haven't seen him since July. We will celebrate his birthday as well as Will's 30th. I cannot believe Miles is about to turn 1!
