3 weeks, 2 days and counting!
Not too much longer!! The past few weeks have flown by thanks to 3 baby showers and having mom & friends visit. Baby Shower # 1 was in Pinehurst - it was very intimate and more than we ever expected. The cake was so YUMMY and we were so touched that day. Baby Shower # 2 was also more than we ever expected. It was hosted by Johnathon & Glorimar - our best NC friends. The Franci, as we call them, went above and beyond and had the shower catered by 2 guys who provided a real NC pig roast and chicken BBQ. The shower was a blast and turned into a real party as the evening went on. Let's just say there was a Guns N Roses sing-a-long...Since I couldn't drink I ate some extra cake and was the DD home. Kristyn & Kirtsen flew in for that weekend and we had a great time visiting. Baby Shower # 3 was the day after shower # 2 and was hosted by my co-workers. Again, it was more than we ever expected. It was held at the Tobacco Road Sports Cafe and Alisha, who is one of our secretaries, made the cake which was DELICIOUS. Let's just say there was a lot of cake eating between the 3 showers and it's obvious that Baby Johnson is very loved! Scott came to visit on Halloween weekend. He and Ty had a great time - not so much cake eating, but think more beer drinking and sports. Will, Ty, Scott, Tommy, Kelly, and I all went and tailgated at the Hurricanes game...little chilly, but still a lot of fun. The Canes lost, but we still had fun at the game and on the drive home (again, the DD )! That weekend was also my last run. The actual running wasn't getting anymore painful- but it was the 24-48 hrs after running that were killing me. Too much misalignment in my pelvis! The weekend after Scott was here, mom came down and was a tremendous help. She basically washed EVERYTHING and helped organize things and helped me finish shopping for the last few things we needed. I had my Group B strep test that week and the test is negative which is great! That means if my water breaks at home I won't have to go right into the hospital for an antibiotic. I'll be able to labor at home for a long time. The doulas came to the house and we had our pre-natal appointment. They are such a huge comfort and I know they will be a tremendous support to both Ty and I during labor and delivery.
Today I felt the weirdest and largest movement from the bun. And almost instantly it felt like I had all this extra room in my belly and was easier to breathe. I am convinced that this was the baby dropping. Doesn't really mean too much though since 1 st time moms can take 2-4 weeks to deliver after the baby drops. I have also read that the baby can drop and then "un-drop" I haven't really had any other pre-labor signs though. I am ready and would love to go into labor like next week, but I know that is unlikely. We have a breastfeeding class to attend next Sunday and then it's Thanksgiving! I am actually on call for Thanksgiving thru the following Monday. We are joking at work that being on call may send me into labor :) We'll see....
