Over a month!
Please excuse my lack of blogging during the month of November! Thank you Kristyn for hollering at me to update my blog :) So let's see...November...where did it go??? We had some beautiful weather (as always) We made it to a Hurricanes game one weekend and had a great time tailgating. We made it through all of our long marathon training runs ( the marathon is this Saturday). I managed to get a NASTY stomach bug the week before our early Thanksgiving in Pinehurst and recovered just in the nick of time to be able to eat turkey. Ty and I have always run the Pinehurst Turkey Trot which is the weekend before Thanksgiving, but this year I had to miss it since I was sick. Ty did very well in the race and managed to place 2nd in his age group and he set a PR for the half marathon. We did our Johnson family Thanksgiving early on that weekend and we christened our deep fryer. There is nothing like a good ol' turkey fry! We had a lot of fun and enjoyed some quality family time. We were lucky to have 2 Thanksgivings this year. We spent the actual Turkey Day in Raleigh and Durham. We ran an 8k Turkey Trot that morning, spent the rest of the morning watching the parade and drinking some egg nog and cider (with a little rum mixed in :) We headed to Durham that afternoon to our friends house for a 2nd turkey fry :) Johnathon and Glorimar had a ton of food- he fried 3 turkeys. Glorimar's parents were up from Puerto Rico so there was plenty of culture in the air :) So that pretty much brings you up to December. We are off to Kiawah Island in SC tomorrow to run the marathon on Saturday. We are both pretty excited and feeling good about it. I will fly up to MA 10 days from today for an entire week and Ty will fly up 2 days after I do for an early Archibald Christmas. We are really looking forward to it! Work is busy with projects - but on the other hand our patient census has been low this past week so we have had to down staff. We are feeling the burden of the economy too and it's just not fun. Stay tuned for a marathon report and a few pictures- coming eventually :)
